Mikeson Kevin and his friend, who were returning to Nakuru where they were studying, died in the crash.

The young men were riding a motorbike on their way home when they got into the devastating accident.

Where did Mikeson Kevin school?

“These two best friends were schooling in Nakuru and had come home this weekend to visit their families—a visit that turned out to be their final farewell,” shared Facebook user Koech Manasseh.

He posted the last photo the two friends took before starting their journey back to Nakuru, an image that captured their final moments alive.

Mikeson had also shared the same picture on his TikTok account, unaware it would be his last.

In the photo, he sat at the back of a motorbike while his friend, who was riding it, sat in front.

Both wore blue jeans, with Mikeson’s being rugged. He also had on a black hoodie and blue shoes.

“The news of their untimely passing has left us all heartbroken and struggling to comprehend such a profound loss. Their bond was a testament to true friendship, and their absence will be deeply felt by all who knew them. Our hearts go out to their grieving families and friends during this incredibly difficult time,” Manasseh added.

Shortly after the tragic news, a video was uploaded to TikTok, prompting concern among netizens that Mikeson’s account may have been hacked.

However, it was later clarified that his girlfriend, who had access to the account, had shared a throwback video of the two enjoying a happy moment together.

The heartbreaking news prompted an outpouring of emotion in the comment section, with many expressing their condolences and sharing touching tributes:

"Just a few days after being with them, then you hear they're no more... it's truly painful. God, protect our friends at all costs—we are still too young to die."

Increase in pedestrian and boda boda deaths

In late 2024, the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) raised an alarm over the increase in pedestrian deaths involving boda boda riders in grisly road accidents.

The report by NTSA showed that by November 2024, more than 4,282 people had lost their lives in road crashes, marking a sharp rise compared to the same period the previous year.

The report further revealed that most of the lives lost that year were from pedestrians and boda boda riders.

Those hardest hit were pedestrians, with 1,600 deaths recorded, followed closely by 900 motorcyclists.

What happened to former Embu deputy governor?

In another story, a boda boda rider and several others were injured in a car crash involving a vehicle owned by a former deputy governor.
