In tears, Linah recounted the events that led to her leaving her only son with his father.

She explained that she moved from Kimilili in Bungoma county to Nairobi after her husband forced her out of their home.

“He poured hot water on me. I sustained burns and couldn’t even go to the hospital. When I left, I immediately boarded a bus to Nairobi for my safety,” she said.

Why did Kimilili woman leave son with estranged husband?

The devastated mother revealed that her husband had been violent, beating her several times in the past. Whenever she left, she took her son with her, but the man always managed to get him back, forcing her to return to care for the child.

However, during their last fight before she fled to Nairobi, Linah's husband refused to let her take the boy. In pain and fearing for her life, she had no choice but to leave without him.

“He took our son and warned me never to come near him again—or he would kill me. I had no choice but to leave,” she said.

Who shared viral video of 3-year-old boy being assaulted?

The young woman claimed this was not the first time her son had been mistreated by his father.

“When my son was just four months old, I remember being in the house when he knocked. It took me a few minutes to open the door, and he got so angry that he started strangling the baby,” she shared.

She further alleged that her husband sent her the video of him beating their son in an attempt to force her to return.

“He called me, hurled abuse at me, and said I would regret not going back to him. A few hours later, he sent me the video and photos of my son being mistreated on WhatsApp,” she recalled.

Heartbroken and afraid to confront the man alone, Linah shared the video, hoping a well-wisher would help.

According to her, the man had been violent throughout their marriage, assaulting her repeatedly even when she was pregnant with their son.

She also confirmed that her son was currently safe and under the care of her mother in Bungoma.

"I have been working as a househelp in Nairobi but I want to travel back for my son and ensure he is okay," she said.
