A family in Ruaka, Kiambu county is heartbroken following the death of their son Jackson Njuguna.

Jackson Njuguna was found unconscious in Ruaka on the morning of July 1, leaving many wondering what might have happened to him.

His photos circulated widely online as netizens tried to identify him, fearing it could have been a case of abduction.

However, his family came forward to dismiss the speculations and confirmed they had been with him a day before the tragic incident.

His aunt, Joyce Njuguna, who spoke to the press, said he had visible wounds on his body, suggesting he had been attacked and possibly tortured.

He was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kenyatta National Hospital in critical condition.

When did Jackson Njuguna die?

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mercy Nungari, who broke the news of his death, confirmed that Jackson passed away on Thursday, July 10.

"I spoke to the aunt, who confirmed the incident and told me he had succumbed to his injuries. They were headed back home to begin making arrangements," said Nungari.

She shared that the family was in deep pain and that the young man's mother was so shocked she could barely speak.

"The mother is in so much pain, she has lost all her strength," she added.

The family has been left seeking answers as to what may have happened to their son, demanding that those responsible be brought to justice.

Was Ndiang'ui Kinyagia found dumped in Ruiru?

They suspect it may have been a case of mistaken identity, noting that Jackson was a peaceful man who bore no grudges against anyone.

His aunt shared that he had no strong political interests and was not vocal about political ideologies.

"He did not even attend any of the protests ,not even once. He simply went about his daily activities, selling clothes in Ruaka," noted Joyce in a previous interview.

Joyce's clarification came after some Kenyans online mistook him for Ndiang'ui Kinyagia, a blogger who had gone missing but resurfaced days later.
