Miteng' pleaded with the school principal not to send her grandson home again because of school fees arrears.
She asked her to accept the vegetables as a small token towards the fees and as a sign of her commitment to clearing the balance.
"There are pumpkin leaves, sukuma wiki, and other vegetables. I don’t think I have any other option but to accept what she has brought because this is what she says she can afford.
According to her, the vegetables are valued at KSh 250, and so I’m going to write her a receipt for the same," said Phyllis.
