The young man, identified as Joseph Mutua, went live on the social media platform TikTok during a challenging time in his life.
He noted that his household items were being auctioned, although he did not share the main reason during the livestream.
Mutua wore a bold smile as he recorded himself, capturing every moment as the auctioneers took out his possessions.
How did Mutua feel to get auctioned?
The man donned a black T-shirt and refused to cry or complain about the difficult situation.
"A Kenyan man called Mutua went live on TikTok as his household items were being auctioned," read the text in the video.
Mutua appeared unmoved and unbothered as his executive office chair and fridge were the first items to be removed from the house.
"Yeah, you just have to smile through the pain. It feels nice, to be honest. They introduce us to the next level," he said as he introduced his level of occupation.
Mutua noted it was the lowest moment of his life but he could still afford a smile regardless of the tough moment.
He appealed to netizens to give him a job so as to prevent another painful moment as the one he was witnessing.
Mutua told TUKO.co.ke he was overwhelmed by the love Kenyans showed him after his story went viral.
"Several people have reached out to me to encourage me. Some opened up about their personal challenges just to encourage me and let me know I am not alone. I have also received some gigs which I massively appreciate. I am okay and glad I did the video.
I lost several stuff including a fridge, my executive office chair and my sofa sets. As much as it was to some extent like an embarrassing and low moment for me, I still had peace that things would be okay. Everything I said was from the heart and as you can see, I have received offers and massive help from Kenyans," he said.
Netizens react to Mutua's video

"Mimi nimepoteza more than 10mil my brother.. what I've learnt is that men go through ups and downs and we don't have support systems when we are at such points in our lives. It's ok to cry in private but always take notes and write the names of those who were there and those who were not, names of those who degraded you in your worst and those who encouraged you. Learn to separate the wheat from the chaff when you rise again. All will be well bro.. All is well."
Eric Omondi locates the auctioned man
After the man's TikTok video went viral and broke the hearts of many, comedian Eric Omondi launched a search for him while asking for his contact.
"Help me find this guy, please tumuinue kidogo...You can feel the pain in his voice. I will also advertise his Company for free. #SisiKwaSisi," he wrote.
Hours later, he posted a video after meeting him, and he also launched an online fundraiser to help him get back on his feet.
"Hey guys, I found our brother Joseph Mutua… Let’s stand with him through this difficult time. Yaani ako rock bottom but tutamuinua. Ame auctioniwa everything, Jamaa hana hata food but God ni nani?" he wrote in the update.
Is Nyako struggling to pay rent?
In another story, Nyako claimed she struggled to pay her rent and asked Kenyans to help her pay.
The content creator had returned to TikTok after a hiatus where she was sorting out her living status.
She claimed that a Kenyan wanted her to be kicked out of the German government-owned house she lived in.
