Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the distressed woman opened up about the rift between the two families.
"My father, who died at the age of 92, had four wives. I am a daughter of his first wife. When he married the other wives, our families got along well. However, when he married the fourth wife, life changed. He never had children with the fourth wife, but she had nine children from a previous relationship.
When he fell ill, my sisters and I took turns looking after him at the AIC Kijabe Hospital. We requested the sons of the fourth wife to help us by taking shifts to watch over the elderly man in the hospital. The young men refused and told us to look for someone to employ," she recalled.
Where does Wairimu's stepfamily live?
When Kinani died, according to Wairimu's culture, he was expected to be buried alongside his first wife in his home in Murang'a, where he lived with her.
Unfortunately, the fourth family, who live in Gilgil, Nakuru county, sought a court order to bury him in their home village.

"They have been fighting us ever since. Two days after my father's death, they came to the hospital at night with some lawyer's papers, seeking to take my father's body and bury him. Fortunately, the hospital did not allow them.
However, the tussle continued as we also filed an appeal to bury our father next to our mother's grave. The issue remains unresolved, and eight months later, my dad is still in the mortuary as we await an agreement on the burial dispute. It is not only the burial they want but also his property. They want a share of his estate, and that has caused constant clashes," she claimed.
What is Wairimu's plea to her stepfamily?
Wairimu claimed the family is powerful and that she seems to be the only one actively fighting for her family's rights against the stepfamily.
It has weighed heavily on her, but she continues to fight for justice and to ensure her father is buried peacefully despite the ongoing dispute.

I came out publicly because my life is in danger. I have received threats from them," she claimed.
