A source told TUKO.co.ke about the deplorable conditions in which Okoth lived and the many challenges she faced.
“She had been living in deplorable conditions. The house she was in was in a pathetic state, not fit for any human being. She has also been sickly and suffers from high blood pressure,” the source said.
Okoth's struggles began after her husband was hacked to death in the middle of the night, leaving her with a monstrous burden on her shoulders.
What's Okoth's biggest challenge?
It has not been easy caring for her young children singlehandedly, especially after her husband's death.
“Her biggest challenge has been educating her four children and providing them with proper clothing. She’s been doing menial jobs at a nearby primary school called Anyiko Primary,” the source added.
Okoth was relieved and elated as she moved into her new house, courtesy of PS Omollo.
She could not contain her joy after receiving the life-changing gift, which will have a positive impact on her children’s lives and hers.

How big is Okoth's house?
The new house has four rooms, including a sizeable sitting room, a bedroom, a kitchen, and a store.
Okoth previously lived in a mabati house, which was in a deplorable state and even posed a risk to the life of the 48-year-old and her children.
She was almost overwhelmed with emotions as fellow widows joined her for a small house-opening celebration.
They held a prayer session in her new home, dedicating it and praying for provision.
