Susan died in Chiromo Hospital Group in Nairobi after she was allegedly forcefully admitted under the orders of her husband.

The woman is said to have been battling depression, which the family noted she had been managing for years and was under prescribed drugs.

The family’s efforts to see her at the hospital proved futile, as they were asked to seek consent from her husband.

How did Susan Njoki Kamengere die?

While addressing the press, a pathologist in the presence of the family revealed that a post-mortem had been carried out by several pathologists, all of whom agreed on the findings.

“We have conducted this post-mortem very exhaustively, and all the various parties were represented. We were six pathologists, and we are all in agreement with the findings,” said one of the pathologists.

He noted that there were signs of compression to the neck, which indicated she was manually strangled.

“There were also signs of a lack of oxygen in the blood due to neck compression. All these findings are consistent with manual asphyxiation, and we are all in consensus,” he added.

The pathologist further stated that food was found in Susan’s stomach, indicating she died less than four hours after her last meal.
