Woman, 45, Arrested Alongside Lover Aged 22 after Her Husband Is Brutally Murdered

Botswana: A woman identified as Malebongo Sigola, 45, has been arraigned alongside her younger lover, Alfred Gateitsiwe of Molepolele Village, over the death of her husband, Timothy Sigola.

The two were arrested alongside 50-year-old Stella Sibanda from Zimbabwe and a male counterpart from the same country, identified as Maxwell Lucky Chirinda, aged 22 years old.

The two women and two men were arraigned on July 19, 2025, and according to the charge sheet, they killed Timothy on June 5, 2025.

As the case proceeded, the suspects wore various expressions on their faces; from being blank and ashamed to some looking defensive. They listened keenly to the proceedings and were later seen outside the court.

How was Timothy's body discovered?

It is alleged that during consultations with Morafe during Merapelo, it emerged that the deceased was found by a passerby at Gakuto lands with some body parts missing.

"The sad reality of these kind of issues is that, the kids are the ones who suffer the most. Their father is dead and their mother is in prison," said Rachel Sebiyane on her Facebook page.
