Nakuru: Eyewitness Video Shows Discovery of Boy’s Body at Home after Father Killed Him

Nakuru, Kenya: A man who was having relationship problems with his baby mama allegedly made the drastic decision of killing his child before dying.

A TikTok video shared by @ellsononjeri shows the body of the child lying on a bed, covered by a white duvet, while the body of the man was found on the floor.

What happened to Nthenge's son?

According to the neighbours who could be heard crying in the background, George Nthenge had been embroiled in a domestic dispute with his wife, who confirmed she had gone back to her parents' home with the child.

Nakuru Town East Police Commander Samson Adanje confirmed the incident and said that Nthenge forced his son, who was a PPI pupil, to ingest poison before he turned on himself.

According to witnesses, Nthenge picked his son from school at 4pm before he carried out the horrible acts.

What message did Nthenge leave?

Police said the man left a note saying that he suspected his wife of having an affair with another man, and many people were devastated by the news.

Netizens who watched the video urged lovers to seek alternative ways of conflict resolution instead of fighting each other to the point of death.

Nakuru man's father-in-law speaks

Speaking to the media, the father-in-law of the man who killed his son before harming himself said the couple had been facing some relationship troubles in the days leading up to the incident.

"They had broken up, and so he went to the school to pick up the child, only for us to later find out that he had killed the child and also himself. When my daughter left work at the hotel she works at, she came here to find out why her son had not gone to school," he recounted.

He said that once the mum of the child arrived at her baby daddy's house, she was horrified to find the child had already died.

"We waited for her to come and tell us what happened. It is such a shocking scene," he said.

Locals condemned the incident, urging couples to find better ways of solving conflicts instead of taking away their lives and those of their children.

"Approach your parents or the elders and let them help you find a solution because this is not the best way to handle domestic conflicts," a neighbour said.

Siaya man accused of killing his child

In another story, police in Siaya county launched a manhunt for Kennedy Omondi, who was accused of killing his 3-year-old child.

According to Nyagunda sub-county assistant chief Edwin Juma, Omondi picked the child and disappeared with him after fighting with his wife.

The body was found dumped in a thicket on Saturday, April 19 and taken to the Bondo sub-county hospital.
