Millicent Maina: Relief as Woman Who Was Bedridden in House for 4 Years Is Taken to Hospital

Githurai, Kenya: Millicent Maina, the mum of two who had been bedridden for years while suffering from eight conditions, has been taken to the hospital.

Her story came to light when actress Dorea Chege and her husband, DJ Dibul, were in Githurai for a marketing gig when they entered her house, only to find her unwell and bedridden.

She shared her story with them, saying that she suffers from a blood condition, asthma, ulcers, a spinal problem, and a heart problem, among others. She had been in bed for four years, and her family had allegedly been avoiding her calls like the plague.

Eric Omondi caught wind of the story and decided to make a personal visit, only to discover things were worse because only the lady's two kids were taking care of her.

On July 24, the comedian rallied Kenyans from all walks to raise some money for the woman, and they raised so much that the two numbers presented for that purpose were filled, and Kenyans demanded a PayBill.

Where is Millicent Maina now?

On July 25, Omondi brought an ambulance to Maina's home and took her to the hospital.

"Hey guys, thank you for your patience. We have managed to take mum to the hospital (A very big thank you to LaSante Ambulances for coming through, God bless🙏). We have also opened a bank account for her and a Paybill for her as well," he said.
"Team Sisi Kwa Sisi let’s go all out for mum and her kids. Let’s change their lives completely. Lets us open a trust fund for school, buy mum land and build for her then also start a business for her. PayBill Number is 522533 and Account Number is 9943994. Account name is Millicent Waithira Maina. Let’s go guys. God bless🙏🙏🙏," he added.

In the hospital, Maina was admitted by medical personnel, and they assured Kenyans through Omondi that the woman they have taken under their wings will be fine since she has started treatment.

Kenyans asked Omondi to see to it that the mum of two gets premium treatment while at the hospital and that the kids who were left at home are safe.

In another story, Omondi visited Maina's family and helped them prepare a delicious meal.

Sammy and Simon have adapted to living under strenuous conditions while taking good care of their sick mum.

When Kenyans learnt of the story, they came out in large numbers and helped the family that had been struggling without any help from their relatives.
