Kenyan Couple Who Met in Medical School Shows Incredible 7-Year Transformation: "Ni God"

The Kenyan lovebirds narrated their romantic journey uniquely using throwback photos to tell their beautiful tale.

TikTok user Chege Amoh unearthed TBT snaps with his bae Cindy, tracing their journey as far back as 2018 when they met.

They met in medical school in 2018, as the first slide showed, capturing their youthful and bright faces in the opening photo.

Cindy visits Chege for first time

The next photo captured the moment Cindy visited Chege, who did not appear as happy as his girlfriend.

Their third photo showcased the lovely environment they were in—a tea plantation—but that didn’t stop them from making memories.

The following image showed them enjoying a romantic picnic, with Cindy sitting on a rock while Chege took the selfie.

Later, Chege shared that they both graduated and celebrated the milestone at his home, where he proudly wore his graduation gown.

Life wasn’t easy, as Chege noted in the next snap, but they still appeared happy in their relationship.

Things started to look up when Chege got an opportunity to work in a clinic, as shown in the next photo.

He later secured a job at a level four hospital, where he posed for a photo with his smiling colleagues, all proudly dressed in their lab coats.

As a caring and supportive boyfriend, he helped Cindy secure an employment opportunity at the same hospital.

He shared a photo of Cindy working in the maternity ward, happily holding a newborn during her shift.

It wasn’t always about work—the couple also took photos during their free time at work, serving couple goals.

They continued exploring life together, including trying zip-lining as a fun outdoor activity.

Another picnic followed as they continued to strengthen their love and bond by spending quality time together.

Chege also shared a photo of Cindy visiting a children’s home, showing what a great mother she would be one day.

Another photo captured Chege celebrating his birthday with his medical colleagues at the hospital as they enjoyed some cake.

A mini vacation followed, with Chege treating Cindy to a getaway in Naivasha, Nakuru county.

Good news came after the vacation when Cindy found out she was pregnant, and they celebrated with an outing.

Cindy and Chege blessed with son

They went for an ultrasound, showing their commitment to keeping the baby and Chege’s dedication to Cindy throughout the journey.

The couple continued going out, sometimes joined by a friend who supported them through the pregnancy journey.

The lovebirds were later blessed with a bouncing baby boy. Chege shared a picture of their son, covering his face with an emoji.

Through it all, Chege acknowledged it was only by God’s grace, as the final slides came to an end.

Jane Murimi Mugo, a teacher and relationship counsellor, shared the secret to such long-lasting relationships.

"Friendship and communication. Of course, other factors like values, principles and vision, but they all spring from communication and friendship. They have spent a long time and a lot of time together to build what they have built. These days, not many relationships last. They should even be married.
I think such relationships are built on openness and honesty. You can see an element of being open and wanting to know each other. How do I know that? Making their relationship public, going on vacations, working together in the hospital and enjoying each other's company," she told TUKO.co.ke.
