Her story came to light when actress Dorea Chege and her partner, DJ Dibul, visited her at her home.

The couple had been in the area for a marketing gig when they learned about her medical condition and decided to pay her a visit.

It was an emotional moment, especially for the young couple, as they were shattered by the state of the single mum.
Dorea was seen hugging one of Waithera’s sons, with tears of pain and heartbreak rolling down her cheeks.
She promised to help and fervently prayed for the ailing mother before she and DJ Dibul left.
Waithera picked up from house by ambulance
Comedian Eric Omondi was also touched by the woman’s plight after seeing Dorea’s video.
He quickly sprang into action, and together with generous Kenyans, raised money to take Waithera to the hospital for medical treatment.
She was picked up from her home by an ambulance and rushed to the medical facility to begin her treatment.
Days after her admission, Waithera’s young sons, Sammy and Simon, visited her at the hospital to check up on her.
How many health conditions does Waithera have?
It was an emotional reunion, perhaps one of relief for the boys, who knew their mum was finally in good hands and under professional care.
The boys emotionally hugged their mother, laying on her belly as she wrapped her arms around them.
It was both heartwarming and heartbreaking: as much as Waithera was in a better place, the boys’ tears revealed the emotional toll the journey had taken on them.
Their mum had been battling eight medical conditions, including asthma and chronic back pain, yet they were the only ones caring for her.
