In a post on TikTok, she recalled the fateful Thursday, June 19, when a would-be routine beauty salon visit led to temporary blindness.

Day Skiddles' eyesight disappeared

Skiddles disclosed that she had set out to pamper herself with lashes, nails, and hair appointments.

However, shortly after her lash session, she began experiencing extreme discomfort and alarming symptoms.

“My eyes were burning so badly, the pain was unbearable,” she shared. “It felt like I had rocks in my eyes. I couldn’t open them, and they wouldn’t stop tearing.”

Alarmed by her condition, she called her husband to pick her up from the salon.

Diagnosis left Skiddles heartbroken

Once home, the pain intensified, prompting an urgent visit to the hospital's emergency unit.

Doctors at the facility diagnosed her with a chemical abrasion to the cornea, caused by the lash glue used during the beauty treatment, a condition that led to temporary loss of vision.

“Yes… I have not been able to see properly since that day,” she said.

For days, Skiddles lived in total darkness, unable to see, describing the experience as both terrifying and humbling.

Skiddles hopeful she'll see again

Despite the trauma, she remains hopeful as her eyesight is gradually returning.

“By the grace of God, I’m slowly regaining my sight,” she said, adding that her vision remains impaired but is improving with ongoing medical care.
