Jane Munyao Wayua is seeking help after a huge burden was placed on her shoulders by her daughter, Ann Munyao.
Jane was left to care for her three grandsons after their mother abandoned them.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Mary, a friend of Ann, narrated how the three children ended up under the care of their grandmother.
Ann takes her daughter to hospital
"She fell pregnant with her firstborn eight years ago. That was when she discovered she was HIV positive. She did not disclose this news to anyone, not even her parents.

"Her mum, Jane, found out when she was taking Ann to the clinic for a regular check-up. By then, Ann had stopped attending her appointments and was not taking any measures to protect her firstborn child," she said.
Jane took it upon herself to ensure her daughter did not endanger the life of the child and made sure Ann followed treatment faithfully.
She also ensured the baby was only breastfed for four months and then began medication in an effort to protect her.
How did Ann's second child contract HIV?
When the baby was one and a half years old, they took her to the hospital and found she was HIV negative.
Later, Ann, who was working at a club, got pregnant again.
Since she was living far from her mother, she did not follow the necessary procedures to protect her second child from contracting HIV," Mary heartbreakingly shared.
Ann was not taking her son to the hospital, and she did not want to attend regular checkups or consult the doctor.

How old is Jane?
Unfortunately, her second child was not protected and contracted HIV, which broke Jane’s heart. She wished she had been in a position to help.
Ann later got pregnant again, and this time her 45-year-old mother closely monitored the situation to ensure her daughter did not repeat the same mistake.
"She was successful, and at least the thirdborn did not contract HIV. Only the secondborn is HIV positive because Ann failed to take the necessary precautions.
"She left the three children under the care of her mum. First, she left the firstborn, and later brought the other two," Mary explained.
Jane concered about her grandson
Mary noted that it has been extremely difficult for Jane, who does menial jobs such as washing clothes, to earn a living.
The money she earns is meant to feed and educate the three children, but the burden is overwhelming.
"Her biggest concern is the second grandchild, because he needs treatment. He is not okay, and even the environment they live in is not suitable.
"All Jane wants is help to treat her grandson," Mary added.
