Lang’ata: Kibera Mother’s Emotional Return to Baby’s Grave Touches Hearts Online

Lang'ata, Nairobi: Days after burying her sweet baby with friends and family, a young mother identified as Winnie has returned to the graveside for a moment alone with her child.

Winnie cut a quiet, lonesome figure with a purpose, and that was to mourn her child who lay in the ground, six feet under.

For the task at hand, the loving mum of the departed soul brought sweet, fresh flowers and some candles. She carefully lit the candles and laid the flowers on the grave.
In the video shared by Paxon Chege on TikTok, Winnie carefully explained why she had come from Kibera to Lang'ata to visit.

She also shared why her baby was buried in Lang'ata and not Siaya.
"My grandmother had also died, and they were burying her as well, so we could not go there," she said.

What were Kenyans' thoughts at the moment?
When Kenyans saw the video, they were touched by the need of a mum to privately mourn her baby in private, as the grief was still fresh.
Some people also wanted to visit her and have a moment with her, just give her a shoulder to cry on, so they asked for her number.
None had been offered by the time the story was published. It was, however, established that she comes from Alego in Siaya county and lives in Kibera.
"Oooh my goodness, bring contacts; we plan and visit her, the pain in her voice Is too much, please share contact," said Jemimah.
"She is still in a very confused state and she seems has no one close to console her that's why she seeks solace by going back to her kid's grave," opined Simiyu Lydia.
