“The students present left my wife and me alone in the room for about 17 minutes, and I had to leave her to look for a doctor myself,” he said.

The heartbroken man alleged a nurse told him she had no airtime to call the doctor on duty and refused to give him the doctor's number so he could call directly.

“It took the doctor who was supposed to carry out the emergency caesarean section two and a half hours to arrive. The nurse was very rude,” he claimed.

According to him, scans had shown the baby was fully developed, yet the doctors said they needed to administer medicine for the lungs to form.

He added that his wife became increasingly unwell, began vomiting, but no action was taken.

“I was told the doctor was stuck in traffic. The anaesthesiologist arrived almost two hours later as well. My wife was fine, her vitals were okay, she even ate, and I helped her walk around. But within that two and a half hours, everything changed,” he claimed.

What happened to the mum and child?

Narrating her ordeal, the mother said everything seemed normal at first until the labour pains intensified.

She claimed that a nurse told her the doctor had advised she should only be checked after four hours.

“When they finally took me to the theatre, the doctor who performed the surgery said that if they had waited any longer, my uterus would have ruptured,” she said.

She said she delivered a baby girl, but tragically, the child did not survive.

Through tears, the grieving woman added that since the surgery, she has lost feeling in the muscles around her behind.

“The doctors said it was due to prolonged labour and that it might go back to normal, but they’re not sure,” she said.
