How to heal after death of parents
The loss of a parent can come with heavy feelings because, for many people, parents are a source of support, guidance, and unconditional love.
When they die, especially both of them, feelings of loss, grief and immense sadness can come in tow. It is thus important to know how to grieve them and also move on.
Information shared by Healthline.com indicates that practising self-care, coping strategies and emotional well-being practices can help one come to terms with the death of their parents.
To start with, allow yourself to feel all the loss, pain, anger, grief and frustration for whatever time it takes.
While many expect you to get over your pain so that you can, perhaps, step up in the family, allowing yourself to feel the grief can help you heal.
Take care of your emotional and physical well-being. Practices like eating healthy, exercising and journaling can go a long way in making you feel better.
Thirdly, talk to a trusted family or friend about your grief, or seek the help of a therapist.
