The family, still struggling to come to terms with the untimely and painful demise of their kin, shared more updates about the deceased.

"She was shot so many times that we wondered if the police officer had been properly trained. We do not understand how these officers are trained.
"We do not know what transpired that led to the death of my son’s wife. She has two children who are here," said Ndunge's father-in-law, Jonathan Waema.

What's Ndunge's husband's name?

One of the children is in Form Three while the other is in Grade Six, Waema disclosed, calling for justice for the brutal killing of the children’s mother.

The deceased, married to James Mutisya and described as caring and loving, had left their Machakos home claiming she was heading to Kitengela in search of work.

Little did they know she had travelled to Kanyonyoo to meet the suspected boyfriend, who was armed.

Stanley Kiilu, a witness, said Ndunge's friend was killed on the spot as she tried to plead with the cop not to shoot Ndunge.

"She was asking him not to shoot her friend, but the officer took the decision to shoot both of them," he said.

TUKO.co.ke reached out to Jane Murimi Mugo, a marriage expert, who advised married couples to be honest with their partners.

"If you feel uncomfortable with your partner, just end things. Ndung'e was killed because of her dishonesty to her lover and boyfriend. She did not tell her lover she was married, and she never told her husband she was seeing another man. This love triangle is what got her killed. If in any case, someone no longer loves their spouse, take a break, tell them or have a conversation to understand why the strange feeling. We may criticise men for killing women, but some things are our faults," she said.
