Thika neighbours speak on incident

A video shared showed a huge crowd milling around the rental after police arrived to process the scene, and they conversed about the incident in hushed tones as the bodies were being moved away.

"I hear that the object he used to strangle her has been found on the table," one woman was heard saying.

Another was heard wondering why the man had killed his lover, adding that they should have solved their relationship struggles.

"They are not the first to undergo the relationship issues," another neighbour was heard saying.

Here are some of the comments:

Elias Ayieta said:

"That's 16 years between them🤔. So the guy was in Form 2 when the girl was born! I have a theory: this isn't just any other murder; it's a cultural clash and war between Millennials and Gen Z. These two generations may well coexist, but they can't be in a functional romantic relationship"

Christine Kaleha said:

"At 20 years, I couldn't even allow a man to slap me, even at my age now l can't."

Margaret Maggy

"Weh..I always believe that when an age gap passes seven years, those are two generations and may not function in a relationship."

Lynn Johns said:

"We said no killing each other, you move on like an ambulance headed to the emergency room!"

How to make age-gap relationship work

Information shared by Prevention.com shows that couples in age gap relationships can have happy and healthy unions, like any other couple.

This is because the rule of thumb in relationships is that if you have shared values and respect each other, it doesn’t matter what your age difference is.

In an age-gap relationship, open communication is important between the partners so that they can both convey their expectations of each other.

In these kinds of relationships, expect questions and judgements from critics and be ready to brush them off, as responding to every prying voice can be draining.

This is because an age-gap relationship goes against societal expectations, and criticism is thus, at times, inevitable.

Thirdly, it is important to treat your partner as your equal and not try to mock them because they are older, or boss them around because they are younger.
