Githurai Residents Narrate Rushing to Chopper Crash Site after Loud Blast Rocks Estate
- Githurai residents came in huge numbers after they heard a deafening sound in the Mwihoko area, and after the initial shock wore off, they started helping with the rescue
- According to some eyewitnesses, the plane hit a building on its way down, and a part of it had been brought down, leaving some houses with gaping holes
- Some young men have been incorporated into the rescue efforts by the army and are trying to see if they can find people trapped under the debris
Mwihoko, Kiambu: Githurai residents have shared how a loud bang that rang in the estate shocked them before they eventually learnt a plane had crashed and they rushed to help.

On Thursday, July 7, an Amref plane, a Cessna Citation 560 jet, crashed in Mwihoko, Kiambu county, killing at least two people.
The aircraft had taken off from Wilson Airport and at some point, lost communication with the control tower and badly crashed, hitting a residential building on its way down.

Area residents gathered at the scene in huge numbers, and the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and police responded swiftly, cordoning off the area near the wreckage.

Are there dead bodies in Mwihoko plane crash?
"Mwihoko, rescue team on the ground. Two bodies have been spotted, but there are high chances they were in the house and not in the plane," said Derrick Mbugua from the Kiambu county government.
Rescue was going in, and so far, two bodies have been covered. Mbugua also showed the building that came down and someone's house whose door was ajar.
"Young men from the areas are helping the army to remove stones and see if they can rescue anyone," he said.

Army officer in plane crash had just married
Meanwhile, netizens were stunned by the news that one of the officers aboard a military aircraft had recently gotten married to his long-term love.
As soon as the news came out, people from all walks of life started sympathising with the young bride, as she had not even enjoyed her new marriage to Sergeant Ernest Addo.
A video showing some parts of their lovely wedding impressed some netizens as the couple looked good, and many people regretted the turn of events.
