The crash left a significant mark not only on the area but also in the minds and hearts of the locals.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Njeri Ndaru, a psychologist opened up on the torture and thought process of the disappearance of a loved one.
"It is like losing a loved one. With the kind of impact the crash had and the wreckage all over the place definitely the mother believed her daughter was dead. In times of confusion or lack of information and when we are faced with such situations, bad thoughts are the one that fill our minds.
This is because of waht we see, hear or have experienced. There was no chance she thought her daughter had escaped the aftermath. It is hard to be sober at such times and no level of optimism can chage situations. Not in such cases," she said.
