The missing girl's sister shared a photo of the note her sibling had written before running away from home.

"This is my sister, a Form Two student. She has apparently been abusing substances. My mum broke her phone after she spent a night away from home. My cousin, a Form Four student, introduced her to substance abuse. She’s 16 years old. We don’t know where to find her everyone has been trying to guide her, but she ran away from home," read the caption by an anonymous group contributor.

She admitted it was entirely her fault and that her mother had nothing to do with her “embarrassing mistake.”

"Mum, I want to tell you something. I do not know if it is a curse or what. However, I appreciate what you have done for me. I am pregnant. I did not want to get pregnant. I am going away from your life. Mum, please forgive me. I want to go and live in Embu. I promise you will never see me again," she wrote.

She pleaded with her mother to "find somewhere in your heart to forgive me," noting that her situation had involved the police, even though it was not supposed to go that far.

She also asked her mother to keep the information private, saying she was ashamed of her actions.

"Mum, I need your blessing. I do not know what to do, but I am going away. I do not even know where I am going to stay. Mum, I know you will feel disappointed and ask why I did so, but I am on my knees apologising to you. I am sorry for what I did and I hope this can be our secret.
I do not have much to say but thank you for everything you have done for me. Please find peace in your heart. This will be my last goodbye. I love you, and I am going to find a better life," she concluded.
