Jirongo grips power saw next to grave
They congregated around the graveside after lowering the coffin of the deceased, ready to fill his grave with sand.
Their faces were clouded with sorrow as they prepared to say their final goodbye following the tree feller’s passing.
Jirongo stood close to the graveside, perhaps too close, almost falling in, holding a power saw in his hand, ready to pay tribute to the beloved tree feller.
With the strength he had, Jirongo gripped the power saw with his right hand and used his left to rev it.
How many times did Jirongo rev his power saw?
He revved the machine four times, each time lifting it high as the other mourners looked on with mixed expressions.
Each rev sent a puff of smoke into the air, which did not seem to concern the mourners.
Behind Jirongo lay a heap of sand, freshly dug to make space for the grave.
After finishing his “power saw salute,” he stepped aside and waited for the next instruction as the burial ceremony slowly came to an end.
