The Githurai 45 resident begged for a kind-hearted well-wisher to adopt her five-month-old baby so she could search for a job and rebuild her life.

Why Njambi wants to give away baby

The 40-year-old mother told TUKO.co.ke that life has been difficult for her, having battled a drug addiction for over a decade.

Njambi turned her life around six years ago, but things haven't got better as she has hit rock bottom once again.

She lost her job while pregnant and later fell out with the child’s father, who she claims hardly supports the family.

“Right now, I earn KSh 400 on a good day, which is not enough to rent a house or even cover basic needs," she lamented.

Why Njambi can't go back to parents

The distressed woman disclosed that she had searched for a stable job for months, but with a small baby, it’s impossible.

Njambi dropped out of school in Class 8 and has three older children; two are being raised by her in-laws, and one by her mother.

Her relationship with her mother remains strained due to her past drug use, making it impossible for her to return to her parents’ home.

“I am ready to do any job to support myself and my baby, but I have no one to watch over her. She is all I have, yet I am afraid I cannot give her the life she deserves,” she said, breaking into sobs.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, the Nairobi woman narrated the stress and challenges she underwent during her motherhood journey.

She recalled standing with her young daughters near a river when a woman came to her aid and saved her from an unthinkable act.

The well-wisher told her she desired to have kids, but she could not, so she promised to care for hers like her own, a decision she does not regret.
