Despite the frustrations, she finally arrived at his house, where her brother was overjoyed to see her, as he didn't expect her.

Together, they celebrated with friends and colleagues at what Cherish described as the most glamorous birthday party she had ever attended.

The joy, however, was short-lived. The following morning, her brother told her he was travelling to meet a friend.

Cherish's last moment with brother

He left before she woke up, and she recalls only hearing his voice, not knowing it would be the last time.

Later that day, when he failed to return, Cherish grew concerned. His girlfriend later revealed that he had been kidnapped.

The family received a brief call from him, made through the girlfriend’s phone, demanding ransom before the line abruptly cut off. Tragically, Cherish learned the next day that her brother had been killed.

“This was the most painful thing I’ve ever gone through,” she wrote. “I never knew my surprise visit would be the last time we’d share moments.”
