In an interview with TUKO.co.ke, Eddie said that all was well with his family, but things changed when his mum lost her job.

"My mum lost her job in 2014, and it devastated me; I was finishing my Form Four. She opened a hotel and I had to help her with the tasks," he said.

"I then went to Gatundu South to work as a houseboy, taking care of an old man. I later joined Kenyatta University after a long time of waiting. In campus, I went for a whole week drinking porridge without any money to buy food," he recalled.

How did Eddie get to China?

Eddie enrolled in a Chinese course and managed to go to China, and here he showed a photo of himself outside the biggest museum in the world.

At the time, Eddie started photography in a small castle, but before he could go very far, he was viciously attacked by a group of men who wanted to steal his uncle's camera.

He later got back to his feet and continued working, but a life-changing incident made him change for some time.

"My life completely changed; I lost myself the day my brother died at 15 years in an accident," he said.

How did Eddie get to Vietnam?

Eddie met a man in Qatar who believed in his photography when he had lost everything.

He didn't stay in Qatar for a long time, as he got an opportunity to move to Malaysia. It wasn't long before he moved to Vietnam, and a brother had been helping him to live comfortably in Vietnam.

"He introduced me to so many people in Phuoc Binh; they told me to start hiking the Barha mountain I was so exhausted, but he worked with people at Hoan Cou Centre that gave me an opportunity to do what I love the most; learn and play with the kids," he said.
"I can say all we need in life is patience. We will go through all these in life for a purpose that God will make us realise later," he added.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Eddie said that teaching in Vietnam was the best experience for him.

"It's a bit complicated because we are teaching English here as a second language, so mostly we are focusing on teaching basics," he said.
"We have to implement ways that will make the students understand easily, using pictorials, video clips, so many educational games, and there's integration of the internet a lot, which makes it easier for both students and teachers," he added.

Eddie also revealed that one can become a teacher in Vietnam as long as they have a degree in any field, but if someone has a major in English, it could be better.
