Kiambu Woman Found Dead with Son in River Had Been Picked by In-Law To Go Solve Issues with Husband

It has emerged that Virginia Njeri, the woman who was sadly found dead in River Thiririka, Kiambu county, was reportedly last seen with her in-law.

Njeri hailed from Kinyona and had been missing alongside her son, Adrian Mejja, after leaving her marriage in Nakuru, which had hit a rocky phase.

When Njeri went missing with Baby Adrian, her family sent notices all over in search for her and finally ended up on social media, where they engaged influencer Karangu Muraya, and it was also reported on TUKO.co.ke.

On August 16, one of her in-laws allegedly picked her up, and they headed to their in-laws' place together; they were going to solve the deceased's marital problems.

She last made a phone call to her father, and the immediate family would then report Njeri missing at the Githurai police station.

Finally, the two were found in the river, and the sweater that little Adrian was wearing played a huge role in helping to identify them. The news went viral on social media that the pair had been found.

Where were Virginia and Adrian found?

It emerged that the two had drowned in the River Thiririka, and there was a video of police officers working hard to retrieve and take the bodies to General Kago Hospital mortuary.

When Njeri's family was alerted, they went to the mortuary in Thika, where the bodies had been taken, and they sadly identified them.

After confirming with her in-laws that they too had not been aware of her whereabouts, the distraught father of Njeri was seen at the mortuary, but her husband was nowhere to be seen. Even his representatives were missing in action despite having come from the same village.

What happened at General Kago Mortuary?

At the General Kago Mortuary, the body of Njeri and her little one underwent a postmortem, but the family has since declined to reveal the findings, citing family issues.

When Kenyans learnt of the death of Njeri and her son, they bitterly mourned the pair, as they were hoping for a different outcome.
