Esther Wanjiku could not believe her luck when she finally held her own child after many years of waiting.

The young lady could not hide her delight at finally becoming a mother, putting her critics to shame.

She had waited for over 20 years for the blessing of a child to prove that she was not barren.

The wait, the patience, and the persecution were worth it, as she not only gave birth to one or two children but three.

Wanjiku ridiculed by church members

The smile on her face showed that God had remembered her and opened her womb in His time.

She rolled back the curtains of memory, painfully recalling how she was ridiculed for not having a child.

It was worse when fellow church members, who should have been her support system, became her greatest source of pain.

Wanjiku was insulted and judged harshly for not having children, which discouraged and broke her.

Woman gives Wanjiku baby to hold

She emotionally recalled one incident where she faced hostility after lending a helping hand to another woman.

The woman asked Wanjiku to help her hold her baby, and Wanjiku opened her arms wide to receive the child.

One lady noticed the incident and cruelly asked the mother why she had given her baby to Wanjiku when Wanjiku herself could not give birth.

Those words stung Wanjiku’s ears and pricked her heart, knowing it was not her choice to be without children.
