"I stayed with my first wife for one year and eight months in Nakuru before I flew outside the country for work. We did not have a child. However, before I travelled, we had gone to a doctor for some tests. Unfortunately, by the time the results were ready, I had already left. I was told they would take two weeks, which felt like a long time.

I knew by the time the results were out, only my wife would have the report. That was fine with me, as I believed she would keep it a secret just between the two of us. I never expected her to tell other people," he said.

What did the doctor's report say?

After Kagoni left, it took him seven months to communicate with his wife because he had trouble getting a SIM card.

It was during this silence that Kagoni’s wife reached out to one of his friends and revealed the results.

"My wife told my friend, who then told me about the results. The report stated that I had no spermatozoa, none, dead or alive. I could not believe it. I tried my best to reach her, and she eventually read the report to me word for word.
I was crushed. It hit me so hard. I lost weight because I was so disturbed," he recalled.

What was Kagoni's nickname?

Kagoni claimed his wife not only told his friend but also their neighbours about his condition as an excuse to leave him.

He said that from friends to neighbours, colleagues, and even his family, everyone knew about his infertility.

"Some women even started calling me a gold digger because I could not father a child. They claimed I was just using my wife since I could not make her pregnant. Some even approached me, saying I would not give them the burden of raising kids," he said.

How many times has Kagoni been married?

The situation strained Kagoni’s marriage until his wife left him.

She later remarried, while Kagoni moved on with his life after she walked out of him.

"She got married to another man later. I eventually found love again, with the woman who is currently my wife. I started my second marriage in 2016. Altogether, I have been married twice, with two different women, spanning 14 years in marriage," he said.
