Nairobi, Kenya: Mboya Orinda, a young father, has shared how his client, who was instructed to pay KSh 100,000 for his kids' school fees, allegedly paid his ex-wife instead.

In a Facebook post, Orinda said that two months ago, he made a sale and included direct provisions in the contract that KSh 100,000 from that sale be deposited by the client directly to his children's school fees account.
"After I left the room. The client (another woman) colluded with my ex-wife, and the fees were sent to her instead. My ex-wife also ran away with the money," he claimed.

"I asked for accountability; she sent me a fake M-Pesa transaction message. I asked for accountability again, she called me names. I asked the client to account for why she did not follow the agreement and first gave me a lie, called me a fraud then started speaking in tongues like a member of ... Church," he claimed on Facebook.
Did Orina contact the school?
Orinda didn't stop there; he visited the school to check if the fees had been paid, but she (baby mama) allegedly expressly instructed the school's accounts department not to give him any school fee statements.
"Shockingly! I mean, shockingly, the school complied. I was denied access to the fee statements. I sincerely don't know why. The same woman had me attending children's court a few days later over custody and school fees kosokoso. Hehe," he claimed.
Orinda said that his ex-wife allegedly says that he is deadbeat and not a responsible father, but he maintains that's her story, and there's nothing he can do about it.

"Generally, in my observation, women don't like accountability much. It's a conversation they weaponise against men most of the time. But when it comes right down to it, most women are not willing to fully take responsibility for their choices," he opined.
Incidentally, today, August 21, is the couple's 14th wedding anniversary, and Orinda said it's also the same day he gave up on his marriage.

What did Kenyans advise?
After Orinda shared his predicament, a netizen advised him to invoice the client and attach his contract as well as a notice to sue for breach of contract.
"Secondly, sue your ex for generating fake M-Pesa transactions. It is also illegal to receive and use money not meant for you," he said.
"Thirdly, sue the school for voluntarily withholding important information, rendering you unable to take care of your parental responsibilities," he added.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke Orinda said that he had presented the matter in court, and he could not comment much on it as litigation was in progress.

How did other Kenyans react?
Corem Oluoch:
"Sometimes men take in too much in the name of the welfare of children. As a man your emotional well being is equally important as that of the children and you need to force peace if it is not attainable. Lastly, find a way of paying school fees without necessarily going through your ex. If you don't stop this, you'll die young and hopeless with nothing to your name. Your children will become orphans while she will get some Gen Z..."
Sheila Bar:
"Your ex (not “women”) hates accountability. Some of us are coparenting very well. For the sake of your children I hope sanity and wisdom will prevail."
Mathelyne Juma:
"Ooh no 🤦some of my gender are so stubborn."
Winnie M. Mosetifh:
"The client has not paid. The payment message above is not yours, it's between the client and your ex, not between the client and you since it wasn't directed to right beneficiary as per agreement. Using the law of contract, ask your client to make payment immediately as per agreement."
