She narrated her marriage experience through moving pictures that showed how things changed until it ended.
The first photo captured their beautiful smiles on their wedding day, with Edna looking gorgeous in her wedding gown and her husband in a well-fitting suit.
When did Edna Joseph's husband start being abusive?
Edna moved to the UK to stay with her husband as they looked forward to enjoying their marriage and building a family together.
However, things changed just a few months after Edna moved in with her husband. She recounted allegedly suffering abuse.
"Two months after moving here, he punched me several times in the face and strangled my neck. I thought I was going to die.
"Heaven knows I am not a nagging woman. I tried my best to make it work. I even apologized when it wasn’t my fault. He met all my family, but I never met his," she alleged.
When did Edna Joseph's UK husband file for divorce?
Edna also reportedly faced verbal abuse from her husband because of her skin colour and nationality, which crushed her even more.
He allegedly mocked her, saying his kids were smarter than hers, as he continued to disrespect and look down on her.
"I lost myself. I had to move out, and he filed for divorce two weeks later," she disclosed, noting that leaving was the best decision she ever made, and she was now happier and doing better.
How old is Nigerian Edna Joseph?
She condemned any form of abuse, emphasising that she could never live with an abusive partner after what she had endured.
At 34, Edna is divorced and still without children, but she remains optimistic that she will rebuild her life and rise again.
"I posted this because of people who keep asking about my husband. I am officially divorced, it’s a new beginning for me," she said.
