The family of fallen nurse Jane Omusula has eulogised her during a funeral service held at Citam Valley Road to honour her.

The tragic Mwihoko crash claimed the lives of six people: two pilots, two medics and two residents.

The AMREF fraternity and Jane's family held a memorial mass in her honour. Her colleagues and family members shared their glowing tributes.

One of her colleagues hailed her as a dedicated colleague who was always willing to respond to the call of duty.

When we are flying and missing a nurse, she will always show up. Whenever you would call her for a flight, she would never say no," Margaret Muthoni, aeromedical co-ordinator.

Jane was not only committed to her personal life but also to her professional life. She paid school fees for her family.

Her sister, Esther Omusula, teared up while talking about her sister's impact on her life and how she would forever be grateful.

Esther said:

"She elevated my living standards and opened doors for opportunities. She made me go to hotels.. I don't know, classic hotels, these big malls she made me enter. She wanted me to have the best.

When will Jane be buried?

One of Jane's brothers, Daniel Omusula, recalled how she made sure he had the best medical treatment when he fell sick.

"She was our family's rock, always there with a smile, a plan and a helping hand. When I was sick, she didn't just comfort me, she guided me to the right doctor, making sure I was okay," he said.

As the camera panned at the mourners, Jane's brother Charles was seen tearing up during the mass.

Investigations are still ongoing to determine the cause of the deadly crash. Jnae will be buried in Kakamega county on Saturday, August 23.
