Rhodrick Makini, 57, his wife Bochaberi, his daughter, 23-year-old Mary Makini and his granddaughter, who was three months old, died after their house was set on fire in the early morning of Friday, August 22.
Details indicated that yet-to-be-identified arsonists tied up the four family members and set their house on fire, leaving them to die. Neighbours' efforts to save them were futile as the raging flames consumed the entire generation of Makini.
Heartbreakingly, it is emerging that Makini's daughter, Mary, was set to join Kisii University for her undergraduate studies.

Friends disclosed that the young lady had visited home to say hello to her parents, together with her three-month-old daughter.
The family's patriarch is a former secondary school teacher, and his former students mourned him in moving messages.
"Rest in Peace to my former history teacher at Nyaikuro High, gone too soon. Rest easy," Gesami wrote.
Sadly, she perished together with them. Family and friends have taken to social media to mourn Mary, and her three other family members, regretting that she died when she was getting started with a new chapter in her life.
