“They say she is not their daughter because of her disability. They even suggested that I kill her for them to accept me, but I cannot do that.
When I refused their suggestion, they kicked me out, and I had to look for a place to settle,” she said.
What does Loice do for a living?
Her husband had been the breadwinner, and after his death, life has been even more challenging for her and her little one.
She needs medicine for her ailing daughter, but the lack of employment has become a major barrier to accessing treatment.
“I have no permanent job, but I do menial work like washing people’s clothes. The money is not enough for the various needs in this house, including shopping and medicine,” she noted.
Loice lives in a mud house with a grass-thatched roof, which makes the shelter uninhabitable when it rains.
What is Loice's deepest desire?
She explained that she does not have many household possessions, but when it rains, her house floods, making it uncomfortable to live in.

“My deepest cry is at least to get a good job so that I can make my daughter’s life comfortable. I do not want handouts because at some point that supply will run out, and I will go back to square one. All I desire is to find a job and care for my ailing daughter.
She needs a balanced diet so that whatever medicine she gets can be effective, but I cannot afford food. Sometimes we just drink water and sleep because there is no shopping,” she added.
Loice shared that sometimes kind well-wishers gift her food, but it is not often and not sustainable.
