Mukoye reportedly committed the act in the presence of their one-year-old child and househelp before fleeing.
What happened between Susan Nabwire and her hubby?
The young woman’s mother, Phylis Makokha, tearfully narrated what led to the fatal disagreement between her daughter and son-in-law.
In tears, Phylis explained that Mukoye returned home and asked for food, which their househelp served him, but he did not eat.

She added that Susan had already returned home from work as an M-Pesa agent at Nairobi’s Country Bus Station.
“He dropped the plate and asked Susan for her M-Pesa PIN. He wanted the PIN for the phone Susan used for work, but she refused to give it to him,” said Phylis.
The couple reportedly quarrelled throughout the night until 3am, when Susan was preparing to leave for work.
Did Susan’s husband return her M-Pesa phone?
Her husband allegedly refused to return the work phone, went to the bathroom, and came back with an axe.
“He hit Susan twice on the neck with the axe, and she fell next to the househelp, who screamed and called neighbours for help,” claimed the heartbroken mother.

However, Mukoye did not stop there. He allegedly continued attacking his wife until she died, before reportedly hiding her body under their bed.
He also allegedly assaulted the househelp before locking the house and fleeing.
The man reportedly accused Susan of cheating on him, accusations she denied as they argued.
Joan Achieno, Susan’s sister, recalled visiting the couple at their rural home, where she noted the presence of many officers.
“For a long time, we thought he was an officer of the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), so I am not sure if it was something more than that,” Joan said.
According to a post-mortem examination, the 27-year-old died as a result of being strangled.
“Please help me get my daughter’s body home for burial. We have nothing because her husband took all the money from her shop,” pleaded a tearful Phylis.
The family called for justice, describing Susan as the light of their home. They said her death had left them in agony and confusion.
“May he be locked in prison for life because if released, he may harm more people. He knows some of our family members in the M-Pesa business working at Country Bus Station,” said Joan.
Was Susan’s husband arrested?
Previously, TUKO.co.ke reported that the deputy director of criminal investigations in Embakasi, Festus Tarigo, confirmed that Susan’s husband, who is the main suspect in her murder, was arrested and detained at Embakasi Police Station.
Tarigo noted that Mukoye, who married the slain woman five years ago, would be arraigned in court on Monday, August 25.
He noted that police are pursuing both the murder and assault cases simultaneously to ensure the suspect is brought to justice if found guilty in a court of law.
