The young man narrated that his dad had written the names of his wife's alleged lovers on a paper, and when his wife refused to hand over her phone to her husband, all hell broke loose.
The man started asking for a panga, and his wife ran away after sensing that the situation would turn ugly.
"When my mum refused to hand in her phone to my dad, he was really angry, and he started asking for the panga. She sensed danger, and she disappeared. My father went to the shamba, and he cut down banana stalks in his anger," he narrated.
The angry man later left the home, and his wife came back to pick up her stuff before heading to her parents' home for refuge.
Edward would go on to write the names of the 11 men publicly, claiming they were romantically involved with his wife.
"He even bought petrol; he wanted to burn our house down,. He changed his mind and threw away the petrol in a river. He went and wrote all the 11 names on a wall for all to see," Emmanuel explained.
Edward's wife speaks
On her part, Edward's wife denied cheating on her husband, saying that the men she is accused of cheating with are people she interacts with professionally.
"I am a businesswoman, and I interact with those 11 men during business. I did not cheat. Yes, I refused to give my husband my phone to check because I had some amount of money that I did not want him to see," she narrated.
The woman promised to return home to her husband and try to resolve their issues.
"I think these are just the regular challenges every marriage goes through. I will go back to my husband and resolve this," she stated.
Counsellor weighs in on cheating scandal
TUKO.co.ke also reached out to counsellor Jane Mugo, who weighed in on how a couple should navigate infidelity in a marriage or relationship.
Jane opined that leaving a relationship due to infidelity is not always the solution, and going to the root cause can salvage a broken union.
"I don't call it cheating, but going for what you are missing. Most people, after settling, forget the importance of coitus, which helps to keep the relationship alive.
"However, leaving isn't the solution. Unfortunately, our egos don't allow us to reflect on our actions and behaviors that might have led to that. After all, you ain't sure if you are going to meet an angel if there is any. It's good to ask ourselves the root cause of it since behind every reaction, there is a trigger," she told TUKO.co.ke.
Netizens react
Netizens have reacted to this incident with mixed reactions that divided them into two parts; both factions, however, agreed that the man was justified in exposing the names of his wife's lovers.
On one hand, many noted that finding out about a spouse's infidelity is always tumultuous, hence the raging reaction.
Many others noted he should have taken some time from his wife to decide on the best course of action.
