Nairobi Businessman Narrates Being Scammed KSh 60k by Lady He Met on Instagram
- A popular Nairobi businessman shared how he was conned of KSh 60,000 by a lady he met on Instagram, advising others to be careful
- He told TUKO.co.ke how the lady, who purported to be based in the UK, 'travelled' to Kenya a month after they met online and asked for cash to fix her car
- The married man said that upon sending the cash to his secret lover, she blocked him everywhere, saying he had learnt the lesson the hard way

How was the businessman scammed?
The popular, flashy celebrity, who is in his early forties and did not want to be identified, narrated how he fell for an online swindler.

The married man told TUKO.co.ke that he met the damsel on Instagram and they exchanged contacts.
"She told me she was residing in London, UK. I was attracted to her beauty, and she would send me photos and videos. We started developing feelings for each other, and I asked her if we could meet on her next visit to Kenya, and she agreed," he narrated.

The businessman said they never had video calls and only used to do normal calls, as he was afraid his wife could catch him cheating.
The big city boy said a month after meeting his heartthrob, she 'flew' to Kenya and planned to meet three times during the week she arrived, but didn't.
"She kept postponing our meeting, and I started seeing that as red flags, but I ignored it," he shared.
A week later, the generous man says his princess asked him to send her KSh 60,000 so she could pay a mechanic who was servicing her car, and he did.
The man revealed that the lady gave out the mechanic's number, and he transferred the money to him.
"She promised to meet me in Westlands after an hour, but hours passed and she never showed up. I kept calling, but at around 4 pm, she switched off her phone and blocked me," he said.

He revealed the lady was using a UK number, making it hard to trace her.
"I regret, but there's nothing I can do but move on. The red flags were there, but I ignored them," he said.
Adding:
In the mechanic, and he told me he met the lady on the day she asked for cash. He said he only fixed something minor in her car, which cost less than KSh 10,000, but they didn't exchange numbers. It was their first encounter, and he couldn't remember her number plate."
The Nairobi businessman revealed he was embarrassed, advising fellow men never to fall for strangers online.
"Insist on meeting physically before giving her money, or else you will be swindled and your time wasted," he said.

Kinoo man in tears as lady he met on Instagram steals from him
In a similar story, a Kenyan man identified as Moses was left in tears after a lady he met online stole from him.
Moses, a shoe seller, narrated how he invited a lady he had known for six days to his Kinoo apartment for a sleepover. The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) graduate and his date had a great night, but he wasn't prepared for what was to follow the following day.
Moses said he left his date sleeping, as he had to rush to open his business. Upon returning home, he discovered his KSh 25,000 savings, laptop, and a brand new phone were missing.
He called his date, only to discover she had blocked him everywhere.
