“But, but honey—,” before recoiling at his own words as the courtroom visibly reacted.

Harris’ eyes widened in disbelief, while Judge Terry Fox, seated beside her, and members of the jury tried to suppress their reactions.

“Oh my God, I’m sorry,” Kozeliski gasped, launching into a stumbling apology that consumed the remainder of his time on the stand. “I don’t even know what to say to that, I apologise.”

Though Judge Harris attempted to steer him back to the legal point he was making, Kozeliski struggled to regain composure.

“Um, the question here is what happened. I’m sorry, I’ve just been totally thrown,” he admitted, still visibly rattled.

Judge Harris, maintaining a measured tone, replied,

“Yeah, I can imagine. I’m a little thrown by that also, if I’m being honest.”
