Anne Waka told TUKO.co.ke that she got married in 2016 and, for a while, they were a happy couple, especially after the birth of their first child.
“Life became hard, especially after I had my second child in 2021. I gave birth through a caesarean section and couldn’t do much. He changed and even refused to eat the food I cooked,” said Anne.
Her husband later moved to a different town for work, leaving her behind in the village with his parents.

The mother of two said they had no money, and she struggled to provide even basic needs for herself and the children.
What did Bungoma man say after abandoning wife?
Determined to fix things, Anne travelled to where her husband lived without informing him hoping they could work things out.
However, just three days after her arrival, he abandoned her and vacated the house.
“When I called him, he told me to either kill our children or find another man to marry me and take care of us,” she explained.
Anne said she tried to reason with him and urged him to take responsibility for his children, but he remained cold and unresponsive.
She informed him that one of their children had undergone surgery to remove a hernia, yet he showed no concern. Eventually, he even blocked her number.
“He left us last year. Sometimes, when I call using a different number, a woman answers. He also told me once that he married someone else, and they live together. I never thought he would leave me. My children keep asking where their father is, and I don’t know what to tell them,” she said.
Does Anne Waka have a job?
In an interview with Makanda Foundation, the young mother shared that she had started a small business selling chips and vegetables.
However, when her son fell ill, she used up all her capital and stock to cover medical expenses, leaving her jobless and broke.
“I’m lucky the landlord is understanding, I haven’t paid his rent yet. I also have to look for school fees for my older child in Grade 4 and the younger one in playgroup,” she said.
Anne added that she sometimes does laundry work, but her health issues make it hard to sustain the job.
“I need help. Life has become unbearable. Sometimes I feel like giving up because the burden has become too heavy,” she shared.
