The man being beaten is said to be a clinical officer stationed at Apac General Hospital, while the student had reportedly been sent to the same hospital for her facility attachment.
Witnesses say the clinical officer's phone was switched off shortly after the video went viral, raising concerns about his well-being.
According to a source within the institution, the controversy began when the student's father visited the school to clear a tuition balance.
How Lira drama started
Upon learning that his daughter had been sent to Apac for attachment, the father made a trip to the hospital only to find she was not there.
Instead, he was told the student had been picked up by her elder brother, an assertion he disputed, insisting he had no son.
The concerned parent returned to the school and pressed administrators for answers.
Rumours soon emerged that the student was cohabiting with the clinical officer at a house in nearby Omodo Trading Centre.

Why school director flogged medic
The director, determined to set an example, reportedly traced the couple and dragged the man back to the school, where he flogged him in front of hundreds of learners.
The act, intended as a disciplinary measure, has now drawn sharp criticism from the public and caught the attention of law enforcement.
In an interview, Mr Odongo confirmed he had "disciplined" the man for allegedly tarnishing the school's image but expressed confusion about the video resurfacing. "
That incident happened in February this year, and it was fully settled. I was so shocked to see the video again on various social media platforms. I do not know the motive behind it,” he said, adding that police are now handling the case.

Police investigating Lira drama
North Kyoga Regional Police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Patrick Jimmy Okema, said he had not been previously briefed on the matter.
"It is so heartbreaking. You can't beat a fellow man like that," he said. “But anyway, I'm following it up with the regional CID.”
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has previously cautioned against such acts and directed the Inspector General of Police to arrest and prosecute any school authority involved in corporal punishment or physical assault of learners.
