However, everything changed after that meeting.
“He met them two weeks ago, and after that, things changed,” she wrote. “Calls decreased, and he rarely responded to my texts.”
Despite several attempts to reach out, she was met with silence for five days. On the sixth day, she called him four times, all of which were ignored.
Then came the message that shattered her world.
“He texted saying he couldn’t continue the relationship because he saw poverty in my family,” she revealed.

Why boyfriend dumped her
The message, which has sparked widespread online outrage, included shocking details.
One of his complaints was that her family didn’t have “a comfortable chair to welcome guests,” that they drank “tap water,” and that “the ceiling looked like it was about to fall.”
He added that he couldn't be part of a family that might one day depend on him financially.
The woman said her tears have not stopped since reading the message.

What pains her most, she added, is that her father had sacrificed nearly all the money he earned from his small plantation to finance her education — including her just-completed Master’s degree.
“I did nothing to deserve this,” she wrote. “He blocked me on all his social media platforms and even blocked my number.”
Social media reactions
The story has triggered widespread discussion, with many online users expressing sympathy and urging the woman to prioritise healing and self-worth.
For the young woman, the road to healing may be long, but thousands across the internet are reminding her of one thing: the right love won't shame you — it will embrace your story, not run from it.

In another incident, a man who married a single mum with a young child is now counting losses after she dumped him for the man she had the child with.
Dolly expressed that all that her husband did for her, such as paying rent, buying food and paying her son's school fees, was out of his obligation to her.
Despite the man reminding her of how she was badly mistreated by her baby daddy, she maintained that he had no right to plan her life.
