However, due to financial and domestic challenges, six of their children were taken away by the government and placed in an orphanage.
“The government’s children’s office saw that we could not properly care for all 13 children. We were even arrested for negligence but later released,” he said.
He added that his marriage had long been troubled and full of conflict.
Over time, the situation escalated, leading to a violent episode where his wife and some of their children beat him up, striking his private parts with a jembe.
“I was badly injured and can no longer sire children. It’s the chief who rushed me to the hospital. I honestly don’t even know how we managed to have our last three children,” Masimba said.
According to him, his inability to perform as a man caused emotional distance in their marriage, saying, “We became like two women in the house.”

Did Evelyne Moraa marry neighbour?
Despite the ongoing tension, the couple continued living together, struggling to raise their children.
However, Masimba claimed Evelyne eventually started staying out late and ultimately moved out to live with one of their neighbours.
“Evelyne moved on. Her lover is someone from this village. People see them drinking and dancing together in the local bars,” he alleged.
The devastated father of 13 said he would only consider reuniting with Evelyne if a hospital could restore his manhood.
“I can only forgive her and continue living with her if I know for sure there’s a hospital that can fix me. Otherwise, what are we doing together?” he posed.
Mary Kemunto, Masimba’s elder sister, said the root of the couple’s problems was excessive alcohol consumption.
According to her, whenever Evelyne had money, she disrespected her husband and sometimes kicked him out to sleep in a banana plantation.

What did Kisii woman say after dumping hubby?
In her defence, Evelyne dismissed her husband’s allegations, saying their problems began when he started secretly selling portions of their family land.
“Daniel doesn’t even have an ID card. So there are no clear agreements with the people who buy land from him, and we always end up in trouble,” she said.
She added that her husband was easily influenced by friends, who gave him poor advice and fuelled conflict in their home.
Evelyne denied claims that she married their neighbour, explaining that her age and number of children made it difficult for her to find a serious partner.
“The place people say I moved to is my cousin’s home. I left because there was no peace in my house. It’s not easy for someone to marry me with all these children,” she stated.
Still, she said she and Masimba remained in communication but often clashed whenever he resumed drinking.
Can Kisii couple's relationship be salvaged?
TUKO.co.ke spoke to Jedida Wafula, a psychologist, who said that it is not advisable to involve children in the affairs of their parents.
She explained that frequent fights and arguments between couples that escalate into physical or emotionally violent confrontations in front of, or involving, their children cause severe damage.
“It may be hard for this man to forgive his children, but he has no choice as these are his blood. The kids may also grow up believing that violence is the way to solve marital issues,” she said.
Wafula noted that counselling for both the couple and their children would be advisable to try to undo the trauma and fear inflicted.
She noted that counselling would be a good start to salvage the relationship.
