Police in Bomet East Sub-County have launched investigations into the brutal killing of a 52-year-old man in what is believed to be a deadly love triangle dispute.

The body of the deceased, identified as Paul Cheruiyot, was discovered lying in a pool of blood at his sister’s compound in Kimuchul village on Sunday evening.

How was Bomet man killed?

Stanley Kimutai told TUKO.co.ke that Cheruiyot had earlier engaged in a heated confrontation with another man, alleged to be romantically involved with the same woman.

The argument reportedly escalated, culminating in the suspect fatally stabbing Cheruiyot in the chest before fleeing the scene.

Officers from Chemaner Police Station responded to the incident, recovering a kitchen knife believed to be the murder weapon.

"The item has been secured as evidence to aid ongoing investigations," Kimutai expressed.

Cheruiyot’s body was transferred to Longisa County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is scheduled to determine the exact cause of death.

Police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large following the tragic incident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the unfortunate incident to come forward to assist with the investigation.

5 killed in Isiolo love triangle drama

In another incident in Bulapesa, Isiolo Town, four children died alongside their mother after they were reportedly set on fire by another woman in a suspected love triangle.

The devastating fire broke out around midnight on July 16, completely consuming the home together with all the lives inside.

Public anxiety grew when it was revealed that the fire had been deliberately set by a woman allegedly seeking revenge due to a romantic entanglement.

In response, outraged community members located the accused, took her life, and set her house ablaze.

Elsewhere, a man identified as Isaac Kamaja allegedly killed his wife, Rebecca John, by beating her to death before dumping her body in a pit latrine.
