In a video on TikTok, the nurse recounted how she and her husband first parted ways after what she described as “a really ugly season” in their marriage.

Nurse Judy's first break-up

She admitted that when they first broke up, they were sure it was over for good because the fights, accusations, and silence broke them.

During their year apart, both tried moving on with other partners. Judy met a man who treated her with kindness, but she admits she couldn’t stop comparing him to her estranged husband.

“It was unfair. Every little thing; his laugh, his touch, I would measure against my baby daddy,” she confessed. “To that man, wherever you are, I’m sorry.”

The couple’s first attempt at reconciliation quickly collapsed. Judy says her husband was still carrying unhealed wounds, while she was still defensive.

Judy, hubby's co-parenting drama

Instead of working towards building each other, they kept fighting about the same issues. She believes love was there, but healing wasn’t.

After the rough patch, they settled into peaceful co-parenting and later decided to try again “for the kids’ sake.”

But, she admits, staying together for the children could not save their marriage as that attempt failed, too.

The turning point came during their final reconciliation attempt. This time, Judy says, they had both done the inner work.

“I had faced my flaws, learned to listen, and stopped blaming him for everything. He had healed in his quiet way. This time, it wasn’t about the kids, it was about us.”

Judy is enjoying marriage

Their renewed relationship, she says, is built on intentionality. They openly addressed past mistakes, forgave each other, and made a conscious decision to protect their love.

Today, she describes their marriage as being in its “happiest season yet, adding that the current love is richer and deeper than what we had in the early years.

“It’s not the perfect Instagram love, but it’s real. And sometimes, the heart you keep running from is the one you’re meant to run back to.”

Her story, she hopes, will encourage other couples struggling through rough seasons to understand that healing takes time.

She has learned that sometimes, second or even third chances can lead to the most beautiful love stories.
