"I, Papa wa Roma, am not in any war with anybody. I do not want to be the governor of Trans Nzoia because the governorship is too small for me. My focus is fulfilling the dreams of Masinde Muliro and Wamalwa Kijana, and that is why I need all of you behind me in my quest to be the President of Kenya," he said.

The former Bungoma senator also invited all members of the FORD-Kenya youth league in Trans Nzoia county to his rural Mukhweya residence so that they could iron out all existing and perceived leadership challenges.

He revealed that all the party organs are committed to revamping the party that fought for multi-party democracy.

"Our party was founded here in Trans Nzoia in the house of mzee Emmanuel Milimo by the late Masinde Muliro. Wamalwa Kijana our great pillar was buried here in Trans Nzoia and I agree that it is not as vibrant as it was before due to squabbles amongst party officials. We will conduct grassroots elections to restore our dignity," Wetang'ula stated.

Kwanza Member of Parliament Ferdinand Wanyonyi has been battling with Wafula Omar Mutacho for the Trans Nzoia county chairmanship position.

"In 2013-2017, we were the majority party in Trans Nzoia county. From 2017 to 2022, we had 908 elected MCAs across the country, and we had more nominated MCAS. In 2022, the party went to its lowest, that we have three MCAs in Trans Nzoia," Wetang'ula stated.

Meanwhile, the National Assembly Speaker condemned hooliganism and called on youth in Trans Nzoia to shun selfish politicians, whom he claimed had mastered the art of using them to cause chaos in burials and other public gatherings attended by politicians.
