Many have always claimed that she is likely to walk in her father's footsteps because of working closely with him.

Why Winnie Odinga is not excited to pursue politics

In an interview with Hot96 FM, the 34-year-old said the experiences she witnessed just by walking with her dad have exhausted her.

She was among the close people around Raila during the 2022 General Election, and many blamed her for the outcome.

Winnie Odinga says she's irked when critics target her mum and siblings: "I get sensitive"

"I have seen it all. There is nothing I have not seen. We had protests, we had police shooting at the house. We have slept on the floor. I have been in morgues after protests looking at bodies, hospitals, ERs, there is nothing I have not seen. It is just tiring. I hear people talk about political moves, it is exhausting. You have been fighting for something all your life, to change something, and it is not changing. It is exhausting, you do it," she said.

Winnie further shut down the narrative that she should walk in her dad's footsteps for the sake of carrying on his legacy.

"Certainly, I do not feel this legacy should end like nothing has happened. But I am from the generation where we have got our thoughts, our animus, our desires. And for what it is worth, right now, I have dedicated my life to him. I am always with him, I take care of him and my mother, so I feel like I play my part," she added.
