Will COTU sue PLP, Martha Karua?
Elsewhere, Francis Atwoli, Secretary General of the Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU), decided not to pursue legal action against Karua over her use of the colour purple in rebranding her political party.
Initially, Atwoli had considered suing Karua, asserting that purple is associated with COTU.
However, he later stated that taking legal steps would inadvertently elevate Karua's political profile, which he deemed unnecessary.
Atwoli emphasised that COTU's stature surpassed that of any political party in Kenya, both locally and internationally, and engaging in such a dispute would diminish its standing.
He also expressed scepticism about the viability of Karua's newly formed PLP, citing a lack of support even in her home region.
