During the launch of the Human-Wildlife Conflict Compensation Fund at Meru National Park on Monday, May 26, Ruto lauded his number two's commitment.
In what was both a political endorsement and a subtle swipe at Gachagua, Ruto said Kindiki is playing a central role in supporting the presidency and helping steer Cabinet work across key sectors.

The president expressed gratitude to Mt Kenya East region for giving him the best second in command.
Ruto positioned Kindiki as a trusted lieutenant who is not only competent but also fully immersed in implementing the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda.
"I also want to thank the people of this region for giving me this gentleman called Kithure Kindiki. Let me tell you about this gentleman, now I have a deputy...this one. He understands roads, electricity, the government’s SHA plan, he is a person of integrity; that is how we're going to change Kenya.
"He helps me push this wheel. You have seen him in different places pushing the wheel of Kenya. I am very proud that I have a deputy who understands the government; who understands what we are doing in agriculture, infrastructure, education, health, and he is supportive of the ministers and of me to ensure that Kenya is moving forward," he explained.

According to the president, Kindiki plays a crucial role in supporting the Cabinet and ensuring that policy goals are achieved across ministries.
Ruto emphasised that the DP had demonstrated a national outlook in his work, steering clear of tribal politics and focusing on service delivery.

Without naming Gachagua directly, Ruto drew a contrast by applauding Kindiki’s temperament and dedication.
He described him as someone who is not driven by anger, tribal divisions, or personal ambition, but instead as a leader committed to the broader national interest.
"He is not a man of tantrums, anger, hatred, tribalism, and he understands that the deputy president is not a person for Meru but for the Republic of Kenya. That is the man I have. Let us continue that way, and that is how Kenya will move forward like a bullet," he stated.
Kindiki reaffirms loyalty to Ruto
Earlier, Kindiki affirmed his unwavering loyalty to Ruto, stating he would consistently support Ruto's leadership.
Kindiki emphasised that being a dependable deputy is crucial for the president's success.
He referenced former leaders like Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki, noting their political achievements stemmed from steadfast allegiance to their superiors.
