The state corporation asked Gachagua's party to consider procuring another venue for the purpose.
"We regret to inform you that the venue will not be available due to prior bookings by sports teams. We are also not taking further bookings due to preparations for the upcoming Championships for African Nations Championship (CHAN 2025) to be hosted within the complex. Kindly consider looking for an alternative venue. We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and we take this opportunity to thank you for your request to utilise the facility," read the Sports Kenya statement.
The party protested the move, asserting that it was a deliberate bid to frustrate it and clip its supposedly growing influence.
It announced cancelling the event as the officials shop for another suitable venue, urging the supporters to remain calm as they await the new date for the launch.
"We regret to announce to our members and supporters across the country that our party launch set for the 3rd of June, 2025, has been postponed. We are in the process of identifying a suitable venue in a private facility, as it is clear that the government will not allow DCP to use its facilities. Once a suitable venue is secured, a new date will be set and communicated accordingly. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused," read a statement from DCP.

He disclosed that nearly KSh 100 million had been raised through donations from both supporters and partners.
Gachagua urged his followers to take ownership of the party and actively support its growth. He announced plans for an official launch in June, encouraging further financial contributions to ensure the event's success.
He emphasised that the party would primarily be driven by young people, whom he sees as instrumental in ushering in reforms across the country.
Additionally, he noted that well-wishers had already donated vehicles to facilitate party operations, though he stressed the need for more resources to establish and equip offices effectively.
